Deal Or No Deal

Today has been an incredibly interesting day. For me, as well as for INX.

For one, I’ve moved into a new office after working from home for the past six months. It’s a nice little place, surrounded by acres of green space (and singing birds) in Okhla. Will post photos tomorrow.

On the INX front, there have been all sorts of rumors floating around.There have been no announcements, despite assurances from various senior people in the days leading up to the weekend.

I haven’t had the time to pay much attention, and I’m certainly not inclined to try and figure out which ones are true. I’m just going to recount the ones that aren’t wildly outlandish. Without any further ado and in no particular order, here are today’s rumors:

1. NewsX has been bought by Deccan Herald.
2. NewsX has been bought by Deccan Chronicle.
3. NewsX has been bought by Dainik Bhaskar.
4. NewsX has managed to find some funding from a source who’s friends with the Mukerjeas.
5. NewsX hasn’t been bought yet, though negotiations are on.
6. NewsX hasn’t been bought at all, and the place is going to shut down in two weeks time.
7. 9X has been bought by Balaji.
8. 65 people are supposed to be fired in Bombay from the media team.
9. Various people are going around screaming at other people saying things like, “I should never have hired you.”
10. Members of the top brass have taken off for a holiday, and will bring in the new year in Rio, Brazil.
11. There are massive unpaid bills floating around, because of which the transport company has refused to give cars.
12. The man I like to call the Resigner, has resigned for the umpteenth time.

All of the statements above may well be false. Remember, this is all in the unverifiable rumors department. Oh, and ruthless comment pruning will continue.
