The Political Edge we gave our clients, a 100% result

One of the businesses I’m involved in is an analytics firm. We call the political analytics wing Political Edge.

In the months leading up to elections in Rajasthan, we were working with 27 clients from across the political spectrum. In the last few months, we worked closely with the Congress, managing the campaign across 15 constituencies.

Deploying over a hundred people across the state, we generated reams of data from every polling station in target constituencies. Once the data was fed into our system, clients could drill down to the smallest population centre in their constituency and discover what the people there thought of them, when compared to the competition. And this besides detailed demographic and psychographic information.

The Congress’ state leadership used our analytics to choose who to give tickets to, and our direct clients used our analytics to craft their message and spend money where it mattered.

The results are in.

Of our 27 clients, our predictions for losses and defeats is nearly 100 per cent accurate.Where we said they would win, they have. And where we said they (or any candidate from their party) would lose, that’s happened.

Only one of our clients lost a constituency we had predicted he would win. His margin of defeat was one vote. He is contesting the verdict.
