Thought may be the most underrated human activity. True, independent thought suffers from hurdles that I have only begun to understand and become aware of. But when asked what makes us human, I would join the inevitable chorus and scream, the ability to think!

In a world where the individual is growing increasingly silent – not only in speech but also in thought – it is imperative to break free. Social conditioning, political correctness and unnamed fears inhibit us. I believe they prevent me from thinking clearly, leave aside thinking aloud.

This blog is an attempt to continue a short lived experiment: an e-newsletter that I ran for around 3 months more than a year back. I called it ‘think - out of the box!’

I plan to force myself to think out of the box here on a regular basis.

I will not apologies for the tone or the tenor of what I publish here or for believing in my intellectual ability. Far too often nowadays, we fall back on humour and self deprecation to appear less serious. We seem to believe it makes us more likeable.

I welcome feedback that is well thought out, reinforced by logic, and gleaming with the sincerity that only real emotional involvement can bring.

Most importantly, I am looking forward to being challenged!
